Organized by Geography Department.On the eve of "World Population Day '' Department of Geography in collaboration with "Inner wheel Club, Gardenrich" celebrated the event with a poster competition. Department of Geography, Vedanta College Kolkata organized an educational event in order to celebrate the photographs of world population day organised on 26th september were mismatched with the report of world population day celebration in Facebook. The programme was inaugurated by lighting of lamp by our honorable Principle ma'am. Principal madam also delivered her speech. Prof Somnath Sardar, Agronomy Department, Nimpith Ashram, Jaynagar graced the event as special guest. He delivered a speech on "Waste Management and Recycling". Total 52 students attended the seminar for the talk. The venue for the programme was Geography Lab. The event also included poster and photography exhibition and competition. 11 students displayed their poster for the competition and 14 photographs were displayed. 80 visitors cast their vote for choosing the best photograph and best poster displayed in the competition. The winner for the poster competition was selected on the basis of the judgement made by audience poll voting. After result declaration, certificates and trophies were given to the participants. The programme ended with the vote of thanks. .
