Visit to session of Vidhan Sabha.
The Department of Political Science was fortunate to get a permission to witness a session of the legislative assembly of West Bengal on the 28th July. The session was chaired by honourable speaker Sir Biman Banerjee . Students witnessed the participation of treasury bench and opposition in discussing the passage of a bill.Issues like problems of Tea plantation workers in North Bengal area, lack of proper roads in Sunderban area, establishing more women help centre along with PLCC( pre litigation counseling cell) were taken up.Cabinet Ministers and MLA s were interacting and debating on every bill that was introduced. 20 students attended the session.They were accompanied by three faculty members. Overall it was a enlightening experience for the students ,.
